Retro Biography: Eddie Cantor (1892-1964) had an incredible career. Up from dire poverty to extraordinary success and wealth. He conquered Vaudeville, follies, the legitimate stage, film, literature, radio, music and television. His method was hard work, good career judgment, talent intelligently used and largess. Luck comes to those who are prepared. In 1938, Cantor coined the name, March of Dimes, for an important charity, which flourishes today. Cantor left a remarkable legacy.
